The many perspectives of the Oulu innovation system An
innovation* system or environment is a multi-faceted network
involving a number of operators. When an innovation
environment is portrayed as a two-dimensional diagram,
certain simplifications of the actual situation are
inevitable. The following figure shows the innovation
environment in Oulu through the basic functions of different
operators. If greater detail is desired, the functions need
to be surveyed from the viewpoint of each operator in
relation to the rest of the network.
